Funny Face Gif Biography
Source(google.com.pk)At About Face we provide information, help and advice to people experiencing facial cancer, including skin cancer and oral cancers. Our services include one to one and group support from individuals who have already experienced it for themselves, acting as volunteers for the charity. We are an independent registered charity, established in 2001.
In 2008, after a successful capital fundraising campaign (The Butterfly Appeal), we opened the About Face Centre, immediately opposite Poole Hospital in Dorset. We support people from Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and East Devon with head and neck cancer issues.
Click for large mapNot only does About Face care deeply about patients and
their families and carers, it also has a passion to support
trainee head and neck cancer surgeons.
In order to do this, the new About Face Centre has set aside
a library, the Richie Keefe Study Library to offer on-line and
journal based study into head and neck surgery. It also has
the Michael LeFort practical suite where ‘hands-on’ courses in surgical techniques can be offered. Up to 20 trainee delegates have been welcomed over full day courses.
The Centre is available to course organisers who meet the
charity’s objectives – generally in the health and social care field.
This is what one of our key ‘one to one’ volunteers, Muriel Hall, has shared:
“Face cancer and treatment can be incredibly traumatic for patients and loved ones and it is important
to know that the support group at the new Centre is there for each and every one of them…..
I believe that my recovery was helped enormously by being able to talk to someone who had ‘been there already'"
